Are you ready for the UK’s 2009 Yu-Gi-Oh! DS World Championship Tournament?

On Sunday June 7th, ardent Yu-Gi-Oh! fans will gather at the UK Games Expo in Birmingham to find a DS game champion to represent the UK in the World Championship in Japan.

Fans of Konami’s Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s Stardust Accelerator: World Championship 2009 title for Nintendo DS will duel against each other in a knock-out competition, with the eventual winner due to represent the country in Japan later this year. You are all invited to register, and to take part in the free tournament. All participants will take part in preliminary groups of up to eight people, and will play against everyone in their round. The top two players will then form a top eight, who will move on to the knock-out rounds. This gives all entrants the chance to play several matches to show their prowess.

The overall winner will receive flights and accommodation to the Japan finals for them and a friend or guardian, and a Wii, Konami games and iPod Nano. Runners’-up prizes include an iPod Nano, plus Konami games.

The UK Games Expo (http://www.ukgamesexpo.co.uk/) in Birmingham, marks the Expo’s third anniversary as it continues to grow in size and popularity. Over 80 exhibitors and approaching 2,500 visitors attended in 2008; establishing Expo as the largest multi-category games convention in the United Kingdom. The show is held at The Clarendon Suites, Stirling Road, Birmingham (www.clarendon-suites.co.uk), near to the centre of Birmingham.
